Our Services

Patients referred to our Centre will be seen by a team of specialists in surgery, medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology. Now far more spacious and with comprehensive amenities and facilities, the Centre is committed to providing a comfortable, relaxing and safe environment to the patients and their families for treatment. A treatment plan will be formulated at a package price for the patient to choose or refer to. Our Oncology Nurses will follow the progress of patients receiving treatment at our Centre and provide support and counselling as needed.

CHSF Subsidy Scheme for Cancer Treatment “Dear Girlfriends” Supports Eligible Patients to Receive Cancer Treatment at HKSH
With a donation of HK$15 million from HS Chau Foundation (CHSF), the CHSF Subsidy Scheme for Cancer Treatment “Dear Girlfriends” (the Scheme) was established in January 2021 with the aim of providing financial assistance to around 130 patients referred by doctors of Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital (HKSH), The University of Hong Kong (HKU) and The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) for more precise and effective cancer treatment at HKSH.

Details of the Scheme
Target Beneficiary:
   i. Male and female patients referred by HKSH doctors
   ii. Female patients referred by HKU and CUHK doctors

Eligibility: The family’s total monthly income is less than HK$150,000.

Subsidy: Around HK$50,000 to HK$260,000 per patient (subject to treatment)

Cancer Treatment Programmes under the Scheme: 

  1. Helical Tomotherapy for Breast Cancer Patients
    • To delineate treatment areas with high precision
    • To achieve the best beam distribution and dose delivery
    • To track changes in tumour shape
    • To direct beam at target tumours
    • To minimise damage to the surrounding tissues and side effects

  2. Stereotactic Radiotherapy: MRLinac for CA Prostate, Pancreas and Others (Unique in Hong Kong)
    • To see and track difficult-to-visualise soft anatomies
    • To provides insights to any changes in tumour size and location
    • To destroy tumours with high-dose delivery in multiple treatment sessions

  3. MR-guided Radiotherapy using MR Linac for Gynaecological Cancer Patients (Unique in Hong Kong)
    • To support adaptive radiation doses at the time of treatment
    • To enhance precision in localising tumours
    • To reduce treatment margins and fraction regimens

  4. MR-guided Brachytherapy for Cervix Cancer Patients
    • To target high-dose radiation at and destroy tumours
    • To significantly minimise damage to the surrounding tissues and organs

  5. Stereotactic Radiotherapy: CyberKnife for Intra-cranial and Extra-cranial Malignancies (Unique in Hong Kong)
    • To achieve beam shaping by conforming to tumour shape
    • To allow real-time tracking of tumours with precise dose delivery, thereby minimising damage to normal cells with high accuracy
    • To achieve indication-specific tumour tracking, robotic mobility, and advanced collimation

Each approved applicant is also entitled to a 50% reduction in surgical fees from his/her doctor and a 20% reduction in charges for certain services from HKSH under the Scheme.
